China opens market for three more kinds of Vietnamese aquatic products

Upon the request of Vietnam, China has agreed to open its market for three kinds of Vietnamese aquatic products, namely spotted clams, white clams and oyster.

The Chinese side said that they have evaluated these products by the aquatic product control system. The current list also includes other kinds of clams and sea snails. These products originate from natural sources and natural exploited, controlled and certified by Vietnam with a similar process.

China requests Vietnam conduct inspection, quarantine testing and issuance of certificate according to the form agreed by both sides so exports of Vietnamese aquatic products to China will be easy.

According to the Asian-African Market Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), with the opening market for these three kinds of aquatic products, Vietnam now has 48 kinds of aquatic products to be exported to China.

According to Vietnam Customs, in the first nine months of 2019, Vietnam's total exports of aquatic products to China reached US$831.81 million, up 14.19 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 3.2 percent of Vietnam's total exports of aquatic products to the world.
